Volunteer Coordination -- notes from the begining
Notes for a new Volunteer Coordinator and Project Manager:
* Introduce yourself for the /community site and the next (or next) Newsletter. For the newsletter, put in a pitch -- for people who've wanted to help but haven't know what to do or (reword this) need their hands held to volunteer -- to contact you. For the community site,
* Getting the volunteer thing going is a slow boot-up since I have to get you so much info and create ways of communicating instead of keeping things in my head, AND you'll need to start filtering for people who are actually interested out of all those we've talked to.
o http://spaceshare.com/community/events/open-volunteer-needed shows a hodge-podge of tasks, not well organized and not complete, but a lot is there.
o http://spaceshare.com/community/intern_projects_grab_bag shows the larger-sized ones. I need to move my info from this computer to online
* Another thing we discussed was having you search for new volunteers and interns. I'll send some attachments momentarily.
