For Power to the Peaceful next weekend, we’ve included a “neighbor match.” The idea is that everyone going to the festival will be encouraged to find neighbors who have similar interests (peace activism? vegetarian potlucks? converting cars to biodiesel?) and drive, bike, bus or walk together with neighbors. The ideas come from Volunteer and Activist Seedlings.

It’s just a prototype right now, but we’re hoping that nonprofits will be able to do a new type of recruiting: getting your members to sign up, find their neighbors who are also interested in your nonprofit’s issues, and introduce a few neighbors to your nonprofit every time they go to a peace march or a festival.
