Materials needing to be designed & integrated (top level post)

Here's our list of sites and materials that will eventually be integrated:

* homepage: www.spaceshare.com
* and related to it, www.spaceshare.com/green (independently advertised)
* our actual ride-[etc]-share sites, such as www.spaceshare.com/livermore
* also, our community site (this site)(less important) http://www.spaceshare.com/community/
* our printed booth-signs, such as at http://spaceshare.com/images/LGE/SpSh_logo_d_rev8_lowres.gif
* and similar to the booth signage, a shortened version of the hanging banner that might be on our own sites when we have no sponsor and are not being paid:
http://www.spaceshare.com/images/ourlogos/SpSh_logo_web_short_banner.gif

--> If the art was left in my hands [Stephen], I would change the raindrops on the "rev8" banner into attention grabbing flowers or something, than repeat this imagery throughout all our materials (the last image above is my "I give up" graphic, using more signs rather than replacing the raindrops with something subtle.) I'm already using the leaf-images in brochures.
--> We've chosen lots of colors over time. Picking some to stick with would be nice.

One of the urgent steps is to create a consistent color-scheme and repeated-images set. Any artists up for this?

Website notes:

I feel increasingly sure that the over-scope of the homepage is going to look something like this:
spaceshare.com homepage
community.spaceshare.com people chatting about making events greener. There will be many specialized forums we are hosting, perhaps organic groups, perhaps just parts of a huge forum but where you can link to the appropriate section and it looks good:

1. biofuels and events
2. green travel from airports, sharing ideas airport by airport
3. green travel in general, sharing ideas
4. many more soon. A few will be pretty far off-topic and specialized.

intranet.spaceshare.com much of the current spaceshare.com/community site.

* All these will have a single-sign-in, and users of new (not yet designed) SpaceSharing sites for events can sign in that way too. Intranet access may be more restricted, or I may create a page-type called semi-private or something like that.

Folks,

Folks,

IMHO, the bright green on the forum makes the links hard to read (at least in Ffox). Light colors seem to best for the carpool sites (white or beige). The Folklife site seems extremely hard to read with the peach color (with my setup in Ffox appears more closer brown than "peach".)

The homepage green I think is perfect for the logo on the homepage (and perhaps to expand elsewhere?), it reminds me of driving and the standard green roadsigns. Another good idea would be similar to the blue that I believe the HOV lanes' signs have in most places (we don't have them here in MI, so I can't remember off hand).

Just my two cents.
