Graphics to Inspire Earth-Consciousness
Help us improve and share the skit (currently) at http://greeneventsguide.org/skit.html
(grab it at: http://greeneventsguide.org/skit_basic.txt )
This project's first version is approaching completion. Brainstorms and sketches below are OUT OF DATE.
Help create image, online-skit or video that festivals can put on their websites, promoting greener travel and greener events. We've got some not-there-yet drafts. (It wouldn't hurt to have a simple image, but I think we'll get better traction with something more exciting, a story of some type.)
Web Design Images for Festival Pages:
UFO idea:
A group of people and cars are on the ground with a smoggy city background. The ufo starts beaming up people and cars. As it beams up the cars and people, the ufo transforms into a car filled with people and the background becomes a greener city, less smog, more trees. The last image in the sequence says something along the lines of “carpool with spaceshare to your next festivalâ€â€¦ The image itself has the octagonal menu-border present in the previous images I’ve made.
Happy ancestors image:
Initial image has dinosaurs that transform into oil while the environment behind them shifts from a wooded landscape to a somewhat urban landscape. The oil forms a puddle on the ground, cars and people take the place where the dinosaurs were. Oil goes into the cars with single drivers. Smog forms above the cars in the form of an unhappy dinosaur face. Words go over the image that say: make our ancestors happy, carpool. The image itself has the octagonal menu-border present in the previous images I’ve made.
Empty pockets:
Image begins with a zoom in on a person with their pants pockets hanging out, empty, their face is looking down at empty hands and pockets. In a bubble above their head is an image of a festival full of people. A car with a couple of people shows up and asks if the person wants to go to the festival. Words come over the image: go green, go cheap, carpool.
[recommendation but not from target audience: "cheap" not right word, maybe thrifty? "Reduce cost"?]
Cars Scoot Away
An image (maybe photos) that shows a traffic jam being transformed as people decide to carpool. The image here is very minimal sketch.
Empty Pockets + Cars Scoot Away
Start with traffic jam and lonely beautiful person, morphing into one or two cars and beautiful festival. Could be simple audio of bubble-pop noises or visual equivalent each time people combine cars.
Nursery Rhyme
Three Little Hippies or Stacy's version

The skit needs help. "Hippies" has generally been booed by the crowd. Another shot:
This green music lover sings about Gaia,
and this little greenie votes for peace.
But this empty seat means a quarter ton C02,
and this empty seat squeeks "oil war, oil war, oil war" all the way home.
Followed by something: [help!]
Either of these is likely to have some text screens added afterwards: start with an attention grabber, follow with (or surround with) details.
I think writing the skit should precede designing graphics, unless you're sketching something (like the above) intended to help brainstorm a good skit -- please don't create an image and then wait for someone to design the words for it!
1. I've done what I can do and am heading to the limits of my artistic skills. Anyone want to take the lead on this project!!!
... We have a tricky issue: the image may be announcing a carpool for the festival, which will have to be BIG. My gut feeling is that the best version might shrink the key-words even more but still have many one-click options from the logo, with a big emphasis on carpooling to that festival. Another version for people's myspace or homepage would have a general intro link, instead of specific-festival info/carpools.
