Priority or Urgent

Redesign SpSh Home 2009 Overview

STOP
Please...

  • No more working on design aspects for designs that don't meet the goals. Read old notes carefully before diving in.
  • No More using images that we're not going to really want on the site in the end.
  • No more just showing up with new designs. Help narrow work that has already been done, or explain why you are going to make changes, and see if people agree with your ideas before spending time designing.

NEW BASIC DESIGN *WIREFRAME*

or

Festival Outreach Fall 2008 Campaign

Goal is to contact 1000 festivals that are candidates for next year.

-------------------

x - Purchase database of festivals.
[Stephen?] - Integrate that data with our database

-------------------

- Prep an email and have it link to a web page that gets improved

Web page notes:

------
Jeff's editing notes (nov 08):

- cut out the first sub-title
- minor changes to the second paragraph, hoping its a bit easier to understand
- changed to green background in floating text box

Graphics to Inspire Earth-Consciousness

Help us improve and share the skit (currently) at http://greeneventsguide.org/skit.html
(grab it at: http://greeneventsguide.org/skit_basic.txt )

This project's first version is approaching completion. Brainstorms and sketches below are OUT OF DATE.

Intern Projects Grab-Bag

Green Festivals Web Page

We need a "landing page" for people interested in festivals, and eventually one for people interested in conferences... these should be the equivalent of our "home page" but more focused... when we write an article or have an online ad in a website about festivals (we do, which is why I'm prioritizing this), our homepage is very vague. First draft: http://spaceshare.com/green_festivals/
Is it ok, can you make it better or suggest how to?

Rideshares to the Wilderness

SpaceShare will be leading a workshop at the Redefining Wilderness conference in April in San Francisco (at SFSU), hoping to launch a national carpool-to-the-wilderness system.

Stephen would love a co-creator for this project (good for an undertasked intern?)

Could become something amazing, be one of the co-founders of something that becomes national and well-known, great resume/contacts.

(This is unpaid for all involved. A good "Help me get funding and share in it" possibility.)

Brief guide of next steps:

* Improve letters to possible allies and press releases.

Online shopping with donations

Create a list of the possible on-line shopping+donation services, and compare them. For each one:

* General description: Are they green or general consumer? What is their product line like? (We may have more than one partner, one with all kinds of products, one with green products only, and perhaps a couple of specialty stores, like Barnes and Nobles so we can sell books.)
* Can donations be made to a non-501-c3 (we're not registered as a 501c3)
* Google them on a blog search engine, and see if anyone has written about them. Take quick notes, including the URL of the blog so I can see it.

Commitments e-mail

Stephen - I'm just wondering if you want the automatic summary e-mail created by the commitments module to show information in the following format:

This month at spaceshare
month commencing date will be here.

Author name will be here is working on/has completed (depends on the status of a commitment):
commitment title will appear here
commitment summary text will appear here.

Is it ok for me to carry on with this e-mail system? Or would you rather me make something else a priority?

Cheers,
David

We really need to get involved with this. In the mean time, I think it is necessary that we do some promotion of this website.

I like green festivals and I party

Let's create, perhaps with allies, a petition that people can sign saying that they'd like to go to green festivals.

Start brainstorming:

* Each signer is encouraged to mail it to one festival or concert or performer.
* Signers pledge to look for green festivals. SpaceShare's upcoming link is the first link on the list, perhaps Green Mary too, or others if they help.
* The www.spaceshare.com/green has similar forms, but tell-a-friend petition campaigns tend to do better.
* How do we spread the petition? Could be a bumpersticker, or a portapotty flyer at the green festivals where we set up carpool sites... A flyer in the porta-potty is the best place to get people to read things at festivals, we could describe the project, have a URL on a bumpersticker and say "Free bumpersticker if you clean this Porta-Potty (or after 5pm Sunday)" or some other attention grabber...
