East Bay Religious Congregations

SpaceShare is now building a carpool system and neighbor-matching community-building website for a religious congregation in the East Bay: the First Congregational Church of Berkeley.

We'd like to work with more congregations, particularly large congregations that have a serious comittment both towards carpooling and towards increasing the community activities such as potlucks, bible studies, welcoming new members or otherwise connecting your community at the neighborhood level. While we think that people doing things in their neighborhood so they don't have to drive is generally a great idea, for this prototype it makes sense for us to work with a large church where people do drive significant miles.

This system is being funded by a generous and wonderful grant from Oaklandish, with the hope of building a prototype that can become national. So the congregation will not need to fund it, but will need to be excited to draw attention and encourage sharing.
